Home>Wildfire Management Overlay Approved
| The Wildfire Management Overlay applies to the areas of the Shire most prone to bushfire due to the nature of existing vegetation and topography.
The overlay provides a mechanism for the Country Fire Authority to provide formal input into the assessment of applications for residential development, subdivisions and other types of proposals that are likely to increase the number of people in an area.
The Overlay requires applicants to include information about how their proposal:

 | Is designed and sited to minimise fire risk and the spread of fire | | Provides suitable all weather access for vehicles | | Provides adequate water supply to defend the property in the event of a fire | | Manages vegetation to reduce fuel loads and fire risk.
