Preparing for the 2009/10 Fire Season  Printer Friendly
To help private landholders prepare for the 2009/10 Bushfire Season the Minister for Planning has approved temporary exemptions from the need to apply for a planning permit to remove trees and vegetation close to a house.
The new exemptions are aimed to reduce fuel loads and allow private
landholders to remove:

 Any vegetation, including trees, within 10 metres of a house;
 Vegetation, excluding trees, within 30 metres of a house; and vegetation either side of a property boundary fence to a combined maximum width of 4 metres (subject to written permission from the neighboring land owner) without a planning permit.
