Cemetery Trust
Mansfield Shire Council is the Trustee for the Mansfield, Jamieson, Bonnie Doon and Merton Cemeteries.

Cemeteries in the Mansfield region have been identified as an amenity of significant historical interest to the community, local historical groups and visitors to the region.

Bonnie Doon
The Bonnie Doon Public Cemetery is located on the corner of the Maroondah Highway and Wilson Street, Bonnie Doon. Burial records dating back to 1892 are available for the Bonnie Doon Cemetery.

The Jamieson Public Cemetery is located on the Jamieson-Licola Road, approximately 1km from the Jamieson Township. Burial records dating back to 1871 are available for the Jamieson Cemetery.

The Mansfield Public Cemetery is located at the corner of Highett Street and Stoneleigh Road, Mansfield. Burial records dating back to 1860 are available for the Mansfield Cemetery.

The Merton Public Cemetery is located off the Maroondah Highway, Merton. Burial records dating back to 1890 are available for the Merton Cemetery.

Cemetery Records

Cemetery records and maps are held at the offices of Mansfield Shire Council and are available to view Monday to Friday between 8.15am and 4.30pm. It is preferable to make an appointment to ensure an Officer is available to assist.

A fire destroyed some early burial records and consequently information and records held are sometimes inaccurate. There are also many unmarked and unknown graves which remain unidentified.
