Barjarg
Planning for the future of Barjarg
The Barjarg community has made the first steps towards creating a plan that will help the community create the Barjarg they wish to see in the future.
The whole idea behind the plan is that it
belongs to the community - it is the community's wishes and ideas that form the plan and it will be the energy and enthusiasm of the community that will see the great ideas come to life.
The planning kicked off with a survey that was sent to ratepayers during February that asked for information about the Barjarg area and ideas for projects that would make Barjarg an even better place to live now and in the future.
Next up, a get-together that saw standing room only was held at the Garage Door Cafe on Saturday 30 April. Those present got to catch up with other locals and share their stories and contribute ideas toward the plan.
9 people volunteered on the evening to help create the draft plan. The draft plan has now been distributed for comment and can be seen by clicking the link below. Please comment on the plan by
Friday 1 July.
Once finalised, the plan will be launched by the community and presented at Council and the real fun will begin with getting the projects underway.
