| Mansfield Mt Buller-The High Country: Arts, Culture and Heritage Project
To celebrate and encourage further development of our local arts, culture and heritage, Mansfield Shire Council joined with Mt Buller Mt Stirling Alpine Resort Management Board to create an arts, culture and heritage strategic plan which aims to:
• Increase community wellbeing through participation in the arts and
• Increase economic benefits to our communities through the utilisation of the arts, cultural and heritage assets of the region.
The Arts, Culture & Heritage Plan 2007 – 2012 was launched on 21 April 2007, of copy of which can be downloaded below.
Arts, Culture and Heritage in Mansfield Shire
In Mansfield Shire, arts, culture and heritage are represented by 4 active community groups:
Arts Council of Mansfield
Mansfield Musical and Dramatic Society (MMuDS)
and Mansfield and Jamieson Historical Societies.
The Pole People
The unique and wonderful ceramic Pole People were developed using creative input from a range of community members, including those with disabilities. The theatre production 'Five' was in turn developed around the creation of each of the Pole People.
The performance was staged as part of the Spring Arts Festival 2004. and the Pole People are on pemanent display on the median strip in High Street, Mansfield.
The High Country Festival– a celebration of arts, culture and heritage and that heralds the onset of the spring and summer seasons.
The 12 fabulous festival days celebrate our community's love of art, heritage and high country.
Features on the program are the Spring Arts Walk, Grand Parade, CFA Torchlight Parade and Fireworks, Mansfield Picnic Races and High Country Heritage Day to name a few.

Ceramic Murals
As part of the 2008 High Country Festival, 10 unique and individual ceramic murals were created by 10 local artists working under the tutorage of ceramic artist Anne Ferguson. The murals each depict a High Country bush hut and are permanently displayed on a brick wall in the Mansfield CBD. See the flyer below for further information.
